Jungle book

Who will forget the jungle book? One of the most viewed Indian TV series for children of 1990s. If I still have my memory cells working, I would say that it was aired in DD1 (Doordarshan National) on every Sunday at 11.00 AM. There we were sitting in front of the TV for the next half an hour unmoved. I used to sing the title of the jungle book series by heart that time. All the characters in the series tied us up in front of the TV every week. The series was fictional and had a lot of interesting lessons of life. I did not know it as I was kid then. Now that I watched jungle book after a long time in a DVD, I realize it. Salute to Rudyard Kipling for such a wonderful story. I have listed out some of the characters I remember below.
Mowgli – the small boy with his boomerang tied up in his underwear and he happened to be the hero of the story.
Baloo – the bear
Bhageera – the black panther
Shere Khan – the tiger
The one I like the most was Baloo – the bear. He was really cute and always protected Mowgli. Which character do you like?
Here is an Odeo of the title song sung by me.
Thanks for putting up with my harsh voice.
I apologise if the lyrics is wrong. It will be great if you can sing the jungle book lyrics for me. I will display it here and will have people rate it. Game?
I do remember those good old days fighting to watch jungle book, mahabharath to watch those bow and arrow scenes:) after fighting with mom that we would complete the homework sooner .
if my memory is directing me the right way , baloo and bhageera never gets along that well as they have their own way of teaching to maugli . i love both the characters anyways .
i still can’t forget the torture of ur singing ( not only n the bathroom ) but the karoake by muting the television and singing it for me and my mom .
Yes, Baloo and Bhageera were rivals but they were united in protecting Mowgli. I am always a good singer.
Holy crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i dint check that the volume was turned on…….. and played the song.eshhhhhhhh what a nasty voice I disturbed everyone in office. It was so silent like a grave yard and there u were singing like a crow/raven and disturbed everyone and startled me. please cut these nasty suprises. NO MORE SINGING
Jealousy! Jealousy! Jealousy!
Hey Sarayu! when did you start working in a grave yard?
After I met you. U do know right u have a striking resemblance with a Vampire. Damn y dont u make a portfolio. I swear u will get lot of offers. I remember one tamil movie made on the vampire his name was John Peter.U could be the 2nd.
You joined a grave yard after meeting me? huh! Thats weird! When did you start spreading rumours?
By the by, thanks a lot for your advice. Worth considering the offer provided you play the female lead in the movie. hehe!
Well I now understand why you were not a singer. You are trying to become everything. The singer as well as a musician. It would have been better if you tried only to sing the song and not the background music, which is no where similar to the actual or at least that my favourite Akhela’s howl.
I loved watching not only Jungle book but also stone boy, Super Six etc in the morning and Surabhi at Night. (Is it still on, anybody?)
Thank you very much for the wonderful experience (of recollecting the past)
Hehehe!
I am not that good at singing which I know. But, I sang it in full flow. Hence the bg music.
I suppose I watched all the three you have quoted, but I don’t quite recall them. Yeah! It is a wonderful experience when we think of the past.
