If it was NOT for the dravidian parties, we would NOT be having any ENGLISH. According to the hindi fanatics and the constitution, after 15 years from 1950 (constitution adopted), hindi should replace everything ENGLISH even in IAS, IPS, IIT, IIM exams – think about it – even if you are talented enough, you would NOT be able to compete agains the hindi ppl.

Also, remember that the language riots were carried out by the college students who feared that Tamils would lose their share in the central govt jobs if hindi replace english.

A simple state: 1948-61 Ppl from Madras presidency/TN secured 23.3 % of all central govt official positions, next came UP with 16 %.

The govt’s idea was to replace this with “quota” which means TN would have gotten aroun 7 % (according to population) instead of aroun 23 % !!!

I could’nt agree more with you Karthick.The dravidian parties made a fool of the tamil people by rejecting Hindi.I remember the time when I used to work in Delhi without any Hindi knowledge.It was as if I was in a different country altogether.We need to learn Hindi and many more lanuages as the circumstances demand, else we will perish.That is one of the Good lessons we can imitate from Malayalees.They can adapt to any language/region and flourish there.I hope tamililans realise this and return to their glory days.In any case i have already written to NDTV regarding the negative image they portray about Tamil Nadu.I have’nt got a response yet.Let’s Hope they change their ways and report in an unbiased way

I think it is all because of Tamilnadu’s hindi hatred policy of the 70s. People still remember it and think that Tamils are hostile to everything. NDTV plays a mjor role in blowing it up to higher proportions. It was the same in Khushboo’s case where TN was portrayed as the most backward state when it comes to women’s freedom. Not a fair way to bring news to people.
I have switched to CNN IBN. No more NDTV. If CNN IBN does the same thing, our good old DD National is always there.

I totally agree with you.All the news in NDTV regarding Tamil Nadu is Negative.Be it Jayalalitha or Karunanidhi in Power NDTV have always bad to tell about Tamil Nadu.I don’t know what Prannoy Roy had against TN? I have stopped watching NDTV and started with CNNIBN.NDTV will fall one day for indiscriminate false reports

Yes,you are correct karthick. The same thing happened to Priyadharshini Mattoo case. The fact that the case is being taken up for hearing is a good news, but why does the channel need to blowup the issue so big?

Oh no, we do not have any thing show ads with today, Oh I know lets cover Prince rescued for 2 days non-stop. Oh man I just love it, especially the way they show us (Tamils) on news. The whole nation is against the reservation and only Tamils are for it. NDTV give me a break, will ya? (Yes I do support reservation, but thats a different story.)
