Good review ! This movie & Angaadi Theru are intensely moving & realistic. Do keep up this style of detailed story presentation. As everyone else presents the story rather sparsely. Vasantha Balan shows a lot of promise. Veyyil is flawless. It is heartening to see emotions like Paasam , Parivu & Anbu back in our movies. Shreya Reddy is also good .

An intense drama, poignant and touching.Sperb performance by all actors..But for the fight scenes which were much exaggerated and beyond credibility..the movie would have been a remarkable one

Am Sid, from Mumbai, although am a hardcore mumbai ite ve been fortunate to be bought up in a south indian locality! so i know Tamil quite well, and being a ARDENT CINEMA BUFF, right from jean noir -kurusuwa-fuller-lean-scroscse-tarantino-mani ratnam-bala etc 2 name a few,,, and i always make it a point to watch menaingful CINEMA,, happened to Watch Veyil,, althought it dragged and wwas a bit overboard melodramticallly at some parts,,but to cover it all ,,,u have mind blowing performance,, and gud music EDITOR has failed in hisjob (my personal oppinion) neer knew it can come from SHANKER,,,i m nt tht a shanker FAN guess he can make 25 veyils with the budget of one SIVAJI,,, i mean really cant believe he has actually produced it,,niways would appreciate if some one reccomends,,me some good TAMIL CINEMA ,,off late,, a.l.a. Veyil,,,

The movie was so great ! Its SuperB ! Pasupathy proves the world that he is capable to lead in any role . This movie was a hit around the world. I dont know why the people in India specifically in Tamil Nadu cant understand about a persons great acting role . We in Malaysia likes a movie that is believeable and makes sense(Exmp : Maniratnam Movies , Padmasri Kamalhasan Movies ,Surya and Vikram) , unlike some other movies flying like a Superman , happy ending like fairy tales , bored stories and same old folks love stories . If Tamil Film Industry wants to competite with Bollywood , they must begin to make diffrent stories . Its not going backward like Malayalam and Telugu movies .

Great direction. Shankar’s effort is sure to be a starter for new talents to emerge.
Regarding the background scores(G V Prakash), when Pasupathy returns to his home town, the violin background music is almost a replica of Yanni’s compositions.

EXcellent Movie. Every frame was painstakingly directed and portrayed by excellent actor(s). Song sequences are out of this world and I felt like I want to hear the song again and again. Pasupathi is a hidden gem that is going places in cinema world. I think he is going to win some awards for this movie. So is the director. Again, with excellent storyline, the movie excells in every way. I give 10+ and I was very very satisfied with the currently projects coming out of the kollywood. I felt like I wanted to see this movie in big screen but where I live in overseas, I can only get it on DVD. I get I would have cried alll the way home though.. I highly recommend this movie and I enjoyed it very much.
