Disclaimer : This is a personal opinion of the leaked songs of the much hyped tamil movie Sivaji. May have spoilers. The author is no way related to the persons who released the songs on the internet. The author is not a die-hard Rajnikanth or A.R.Rehman fan. So, expect spoilers. And one last thing, if you are looking for the links to download the songs, I am sorry! Try elsewhere.

India is out of the cricket world cup 2007. What next? SivajiSivaji, the output of Superstar Rajnikanth and director Shankar combination is making news now. Music is by A.R.Rehman and as always expectations and stakes are high. Latest news is that four songs of the movie Sivaji, are leaked out and doing rounds on the internet before the official launch of the songs. Rumours are spreading across the internet with some saying that the versions released are scratches and the final version is nowhere near to the leaked ones.

Rajni movie, news about leaked songs, media speculation, hype and rumours tempted me to listen to them. Who wants to be left behind? The four songs I listened to were of good quality (192 kbps , 44 khz mp3 quality).

Here is my review of the leaked songs. As always with every A.R.Rehman film, the songs does not stick to the mind immediately.  :( But are catchy, after hearing them twice or thrice.

Sahara pookal poothatho

Unwritten law - Every Rajni  movie should have a melody song shot at a foreign location.

I guess this song sung by Udit Narayan must fall into the category of Baaba kichu kichu thaa, Konja Neram konja neram and the like. This song is a mellifluous one and I have started humming it since I heard it the first time. It’s been long time since one heard Udit Narayan singing a Tamil song the Tamil way. Thanks to Rehman for making it happen. ;-) Hope that the song is shot well with Rajni not dancing the way he did for Baba kichu kichu thaa song. :-P

Poompaavaai aambal aambal, Punnagayo Mouwal mouwal (vaa ji vaa ji vaa ji, en jeevan nee Sivaji)

The track by Hariharan and chorus has some and good lyrics in Tamil (Vairamuthu?). I think it is time for me to buy a good Tamil dictionary.;-) Sample lyrics (easy ones).

Male : Adi Nettail Nilavey, Rettail Thimirey

Female : vaa ji vaa ji vaa ji, en jeevan nee Sivaji (twice)

Oru Koodai Sunlight

Sivaji song

This number made me laugh the first time I heard it.    Are we in India or at US? Why should one have a RAP song that too in a Rajni movie? Did Rehman forget the BABA RAP? Leave RAP to the westerners. They are good at it. Let us do what we are best at. Rehman, notorious for his late night recordings might not have left the singers out for nature call. One can feel it when the singers try really hard under the cover of rapping. In tamil slang we say it this way when a singer tries to hard. :-P

இந்த முக்கு முக்குறான்

intha mukku mukkuraan

One consoltaion is that Rajni’s smile is included in bits at certain instances of the song. :-)

Theme Music

Is this the real theme music? I doubt it.

Overall the music is good. One need to wait for the official audio launch till the April 4th and give the final verdict on the music. sivajiAnd also watch the movie to see how Rajni has danced in style.

Tid bits

Was going through a Tamil weekly and it was mentioned that punch dialogue in the movie is “ji, Sivaji” and Rajni says this is in different voice modulations and it might resemble ”Bond, James Bond”. And adding to this, music will be blared and voices shouting ji sivaji in the background with DTS effect. I think it is a festive treat for all Rajni fans.

Cultured Clown – நாகரீக கோமாளி

I always liked the movie Anbe Sivam and particularly the song Naatukkoru Sethi Solla Naagariga Komaali Vanthenunga Abe Sivam. I like this song because of Kamalahaasan’s acting singing skills. Other being that it is a song written in a communist point of view with provocating lyrics.

I would not say that I am a communist or someone who supports egalitarianism. I am one who does not stand by any “isms” as of now. :) Will delve into my political stance in another post. The song is composed so well by Vidhyasagar. Adding to good music is the powerful lyrics which wakes up the communist in every person. This post is for those who have listened to the song but did not understand the lyrics much to enjoy the message delivered by the song. Thanks to Shikha for inspiring me to write this, whilst her posts on lyrical love creating waves.

The song is a street play by a group of communists who are protesting against the lower wages paid to workers in the local factory and how they are exploited et all. The english version of the lyrics is given first followed by its translation in bracket. Enjoy! :)

Communist Leader : Naatukkoru Sethi solla, Naagariga Komaali Vanthenunga
(To deliver a message to the country, I have come in the form of a cultured clown)

Hacked by Moozilla

Recently, I have see many instances of this browser hijack in many machines. People are going nuts with this infection and here I am nearing the solution to wipe it off from the machines which are infected.

Browse and Explorer Hijack ?

Yes. IE gets hijacked after the infection and whenevr IE is opened up, home page gets hijacked and re-routed to http://www.lastchaos.in.th/ .

Hacked by Moozilla

Apart from the browser hijack, it hacks the windows explorer. In a infected machine, left double click will not work to open the drives under the windows explorer. Right click and open or explore will do that. So, it hijacks the IE and also the windows explorer.

Do or Die?

When World cup Cricket is around, it is festival time in India. People forget their schedules, meetings, appointments and sit in front of the TV to catch the live action. This time, events in the past one week has shocked many cricket fans. Started with Pakistan’s loss to WI. :( Then India and Pakistan lost to the minnows Bangladesh and Ireland respectively. :(
The Indians may have differences with Pakistan. But when it comes to world cup, Indians love to see either of the two teams go through. At least, every Indian and Pakistani cricket fan will want a world cup encounter between the two teams. India holds the record of not losing to Pakistan in a world cup match and it continues to hold with Pakistan eliminated out of the current world cup. Every cricket world cup is livelier with an encounter between the two Asian giants. This time, it is out of question. :(
And the last shocker came with the death of Bob Woolmer yesterday. He died after Pakistan lost miserably to Ireland. Boob WoolmerFull report on Woolmer’s death at ABC News. Following this, Pakistan’s captain Inzamam Ul Haq announced his retirement from one day cricket.

What a week of turning events? :(

I was thinking about all this and switched on the TV. A news channel was airing the news of Woolmer’s death followed by Inzy’s retirement and finally about India’s encounter with Bermuda today to keep the world cup chances alive. The caption of India’s story for Do or Die for India. :(

Come on! With all that happened in a week, I would not be sad if India does not make it to the super 8s. But I will not like to hear bad news anymore in this world cup. Here I am with my slogan to the Indian team.

Try hard and remember there is always a next time.

Cheer for India! :)

My Space

Office, night shift, personal work kept me busy for ten days and my blog seems to be dormant. Someone even joked that he can hear my blog snore. :-P Here I am to break the dormancy.

The title is no way related with the community website myspace.com. My space is nothing but the boundary or space I am concerned about. I draw a boundary around me in my day to day life. I enjoy my space within this boundary.

Can the boundary be seen?

No. It is virtual one that does not have any thick lines or ropes.

What does this boundary signify?

My boundary gives a space around me which I can enjoy. Which means, I draw boundaries within the greater boundary to have healthy relationships with people. For example, there is a certain boundaries around me for my friends, relatives, people from family etc. That is, anyone I interact with comes under one of these categories will fall into the respective boundary. I expect them to keep at keep a check at the boundary line they are in. If someone crosses the limit and tries to invade into other boundary, either of the two things may happen.

a) I consider the person’s behaviour and his relationship with me and I may let him cross the boundary and fall into the next category.

b) I may not like his invasion to the other boundary and may stop him then and there politely.

What if the other person does not stop invading or switching boundaries?

I try to be polite and say that the other person is crossing the limits which I do not like or expect him or her to do. If it still does not work out, I try to stay away from the person or evade the questions.

I like this concept very much that I relate it much with my colleagues or my relatives. As much I yearn for my space, I respect other person’s space. At least I try to avoid getting into others’ boundaries. I ain’t a master when it comes to the concept of boundaries and space. I am trying to master it out so that my life becomes easier. :)

Recently, I realized it much when a colleague of mine was asking about my week off plans. I tried to avoid answering and but he persistently talked about the movie I was going to and he was curious enough to know the group accompanying me. I was polite enough and tried avoiding it again. He did not realise my subtle responses and went on and on. The emotional part of my mind tried to take precedence to show the outburst in an emotional way. Fortunately, the rational part of my mind took precedence and analyzed the situation and guided me accordingly. This made me think and I subtly informed him that he was trying to invade into my boundaries which I did not like. I hope he understood it. He did not ask me again. :)

So, I am trying to watch my space and respect others’. What do you think on this? :)
