Sometimes i shut off my system completely and try to relax in a diff world and i dont want any one to knock my brain door at that moment. Its just a momentary action but that gives me a lot happiness and peace that instance ..this might sound wierd to others but i guess every one does this but in a diff form and give it a diff name .. In your case i guess your friend might have been interested in accompanying you for the movie and that's the reason for 333221321 questions he asked .. he has tried to express that subtle by asking you such questions which might have mistakenly provoked your inner mind stating this person is tyring to invade your "My space" . Good that you rationally handled it rather emotionally reacting to it. Try analysing the situation from this perspective probably you may get a diff thought abt that situation.
